Kuningan Terkini - Jika Sumedang terkenal dengan produksi makanan khas Ubi Silembu, tak ketinggalan wilayah Kuningan juga memiliki keunggulan dalam produksi makanan khas. Salah satunya yakni ketempring atau yang biasa dikenal dengan gemblong, yang berbahan utama dari ubi ungu. Salah seorang pengusaha di bidang makanan khas hasil pertanian yang berasal dari Lingkungan Puhun RT38 RW06 Kelurahan Cigugur Kecamatan Cigugur Kuningan, Timotius Hartono, juga tengah mengembangkan usaha pembuatan ketempring ubi ungu sejak tahun 2000.
“Awalnya saya membuat ketempring ini hanya sedikit untuk dirumah, kemudian saya mencoba membagikan kepada tetangga dekat. Lama-kelamaan ternyata ada orang yang ingin memesan ketempring,” ucap Timotius saat ditemui KaTer di toko produksi makanan olahan pertanian tersebut, Rabu (4/2/2015).
Menurutnya, dalam memproduksi makanan jenis ketempring itu dibutuhkan bahan dari ubi ungu yang dibeli dari sejumlah petani di sekitar wilayah Desa Bandorasa Wetan dan Linggarjati. Sebab, di kawasan itu kualitas hasil pertanian ubinya sudah sangat terkenal baik. “Dalam sehari kami bisa memproduksi ketempring dari bahan ubi ungu sebanyak 1 kwintal dan ubi singkong sebanyak 50 kilo dengan karyawan sebanyak 30 orang,” sebutnya.
Dikatakan, ada beberapa rasa ketempring yang diproduksi oleh toko makanan khas yang diberi nama Ketempring Raos IH, diantaranya rasa pedas, rasa bawang dan rasa wijen dan banyak lainnya.
“Untuk konsumen sendiri bukan hanya dari lokal Kuningan, ada juga konsumen yang jauh-jauh datang kesini seperti dari Bandung, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, Majalengka yang sengaja datang ke Kuningan untuk membeli ketempring di toko kami,” katanya.
Pihaknya juga berharap, pemasaran ketempring ubi ungu ini bisa terus berkembang hingga ke daerah-daerah lainnya, serta dukungan dari pemerintah kepada para pelaku Usaha Kecil Menegah (UKM). Sehingga, pengembangan makanan khas olahan dari produksi hasil pertanian terus meningkat dan bisa menumbuhkan pendapatan asli daerah di Kota Kuda.(AND)
