Bupati: Seni Ketangkasan Domba Harus Dilestarikan

Kuningan Terkini - Bupati Kuningan H. Acep Purnama, SH., MH., mengapresiasi upaya Himpunan Peternak Domba Kambing Indonesia (HPDKI) Kabupaten Kuningan yang menggelar Seni Ketangkasan Domba, di Lapang Randu, Kelurahan Cijoho, Kecamatan Kuningan, Minggu (26/3/2017). Menurut bupati, Seni Ketangkasan Domba harus terus dipelihara dan dilestarikan. Selain untuk ajang silaturahmi antar peternak domba, juga punya nilai seni serta sarana untuk meningkatkan nilai harga domba.
”Seni adu ketangkasan domba jangan dimaknai negatif, karena yang namanya domba adu tidak diadukan juga diadu sendiri. Domba jantan punya tandung, biasanya suka membenturkan kepalanya pada bagian kandang,” kata bupati Acep, diamini Ketua HPDKI kabupaten Kuningan, H. Ade Petruk.
Bupati Acep menjelaskan, bicara Seni Ketangkasan domba tidak bisa dipisahkan dengan yang namanya domba Garut. Jenis domba ini, punya keunggulan tersendiri dibandingkan domba-domba lainnya.
“Selain gagah, harganya cukup mahal, mungkin ke depan tidak menutup kemungkinan Kabupaten Kuningan punya sentra domba Garut yang merupakan produk lokal unggulan Jawa barat,” paparnya.(Ray)
